A Customised LABRADORITE Stone Ring

My customer, Justin wanted to give his girlfriend a Birthday Present on 17 May.
He wanted something funky & yet doesn't want the item to overwhelm her as she's a small sized girl.

So, I told Justin to leave the designing part to me to figure out.

While designing this piece of ring for his girlfriend, I've to get little details from him
and imagine the design out from my heart & mind.

So, I could bring the essences of the flow for the design to be brought out to the wearer.

Stone Properties:
Labodorite
Colors: Grayish to black with blue, yellow.
The colour of the stone is quite different from the photo as the camera couldn't capture the real colour of it.

Appearance: Usually polished:dark until catches light, then iridescent blue or gold flashes.

Healing properties: Develops body awareness, absorbs negative energy.
It banishes fears and insecurities and previous disappointments. Strengthens faith in the self and trust in the universe.

I got this special order from one of my customer.
He gave me 2 rings setting with stones, one is Blue Topaz and the other is Pale Lilac Jade.

He wants a totally different look and design from the normal type of rings out there..
so i designed these 2 rings for him.

This customer of mine, wanted the rings to be chunky.
I designed and produced the rings into 2 different type of feelings.

Pale Lilac Jade is a delicate stone.
It has a hardness of 6.5-7.
(it must be handle with care as it would crack easily).
I designed a rectangular casing type of setting for the stone.
As for ring shank, it's twisted so as to create a thickness and contrast to the ring.

Blue Topaz is a pale sky-blue colour stone.
It has a hardness of 8.
Blue topaz usually wholly or almost free from inclusions.
I designed a square box setting for the stone.
The checkers effect is created, at an almost melting stage of the silver, with a piece of wire gauze underneath.
And it is then soldered onto the twisted ring shank.
I wanted to create an exclusive jewelry piece, which attracts people's attention without being a show-off.

I got this.. It's actually a molten stone from a volcano eruption.
I was told that, if I use different Grades of Sand Paper to polish it, it'll be a very beautiful stone. = )

This keychain is made to order by my ex-colleague of mine.
She gave me details like this:
- For a male.
- Don't like chunky stuff.
- A keychain.
- Age group: late 30s.

So, I came out with this design, shown below.

Material used: 925 Silver(base), plated with White Gold.
Stone used: Black Agate.
The stone can spin within the silver setting though.

The design is done by me.
But not the finding to hold the keys.

today, i went to the national museum for The Art of Cartier exhibition..
most of the Cartier collections you have seen in books will be there!!

Hi people,
2 weeks ago, I was introduced by my ex-classmate Manda to a male friend of hers.
He wanted a snake designed pendant.
And
He got a picture from the internet and got me to produce it out for him.
He wanted something similar with the picture that he got for me.
After some discussions, I have changed parts of the design to suit him.

This is the snake pendant, I have made it in 925 silver.

As he wanted combinations of platinum and yellow gold for the snakes.
I sent it for plating, to achieve this effect.

I like to THANK Manda for her trust in me.
